Anaerobic Treatment of wastewater in a brewery
A
joint venture with a specialist in water treatment enabled us to
install a pilot plan in a brewery which digested wastewater thereby
reducing charges payable to the water authority by over 1m per annum. A significant by-product was the provision of methane which was used to drive a CHP engine. This in turn allowed the brewery to sell Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROCs) to an electricity supplier.
“Effective
analysis facilitated prudent investment, which yielded added-value
energy utilisation, and resulted in improved profitability, plus
enhanced environmental responsibility and recognition.” |
